Investment Associate / Associate Wealth Manager
“I studied financial markets and investments in college, but I soon realized my passions didn’t lie solely in heads-down investment analysis. Financial planning is where I found the best of both worlds, because I get to not only build long-term relationships, but also assist with financial and investment assistance.”
Max Carlos puts an investment background and interest in people to work as an investment associate/associate wealth manager. He joined Laurel Wealth Planning in 2023 after 2.5 years as a paraplanner at another firm.
He analyzes markets, makes trades in client accounts, and communicates portfolio shifts. Max appreciates the supportive atmosphere and growth mindset at LWP that helps everyone chart a development path for themselves and the firm. For him, that means honing his planning skills and one day becoming a wealth manager with long-lasting relationships of his own.
Max is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth, where he majored in Financial Markets, with a minor in Economics. He was one of 16 students accepted into the Financial Markets Program, which puts students in charge of investment decisions for the Bulldog Fund, a large portfolio held by UMD-related investors. As a tutor in various business courses at UMD, he enjoyed giving back to the students coming up behind him, just as others had done for him when he started out.
When he’s not at work, Max is likely to be spending time with his girlfriend, Molly, and both of their families; golfing; and taking his 1964 Buick wagon to car shows.
