We are pleased to announce that our founder, Laura Kuntz, is one of this year’s Top Women in Finance in Minnesota. We believe the honor is well-deserved given Laura’s commitment to her clients and to other women in finance.
Each year, the business newspaper Finance & Commerce recognizes women who make an impact in their professions and communities. Finance & Commerce will host a virtual event Nov. 19 to honor the women. It will also profile them in the annual Top Women in Finance magazine.
Supporting women in finance
Laura works to support other women in the male-dominated industry of wealth management. She mentors colleagues and is always open to a chat with those who want to connect about the industry.
She is also a member of the Goddesses of Financial Planning, a group of women financial advisory firm owners. The group supports each other by sharing strategic advice and best practices. They celebrated their 25th anniversary by donating $25,000 to the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standard’s Center for Financial Planning. The center works to increase diversity in the industry, which is only 23% women.
Putting clients interests first
Laura took a chance in 1998 that people wanted objective advice from someone who considers the complete financial picture. More than 20 years later, she is still committed to putting clients’ interests first at all times.
Laura aims to guide clients through difficult journeys. She has mentored others in the firm to do the same by balancing their technical skills with relationship-based service. Her commitment to clients is embodied in Laurel Wealth Planning’s values. Accordingly, she goes the extra mile to help clients build and maintain financial independence.
