Mallory Kretman, CFP®

Wealth Manager / Shareholder

“I was drawn to Laurel Wealth Planning because of our emphasis on the importance of each client. I love being part of an environment that truly values the relationships we are building and a commitment to results.”

Mallory Kretman serves our clients as a Wealth Manager and also leads the firm’s financial planning strategies.

As a Wealth Manager, Mallory works to meet clients’ goals through deeply knowing the clients and their needs, wants, goals, and preferences. She aims to give financial advice that is compassionate and easy to understand. She especially enjoys working with people who are in life transitions or who are new to financial planning.

Mallory keeps the firm up to date on tax landscape changes and new strategies for financial, tax, and estate planning. She does extensive research on these topics and how they impact clients, shares her findings and recommendations at monthly team meetings, and helps the firm operationalize strong advice for clients. Mallory is in the process of obtaining the Tax Planning Certified Professional credential (TPCP™) through the American College of Financial Planning.

Mallory joined Laurel Wealth Planning in 2011 in client service. Her dedication to our clients and our values, along with her strong initiative, earned her regular promotions, including becoming a shareholder in 2019.

Mallory is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and is fully licensed.

She earned her Bachelor’s degree with high honors from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where she studied the liberal arts and was a member of three honor societies.

Mallory’s wisdom comes from more than formal study and professional experience. Raised by a single father, Mallory was devastated to find out in her mid-20s that he had terminal cancer. Mallory moved home to assist with his care and support her sister after his passing. The family again turned to Mallory when her grandmother required nursing home care. She became the main caretaker and organized her grandmother’s financial matters. Mallory credits these experiences for giving her strength, perspective, and compassion.

Mallory and her husband, Hank, welcomed their first child, Henry, in February 2020, and their second child, Ellie, in August 2022. She is a wine enthusiast who has toured vineyards in France’s Loire Valley and Champagne region. When she’s not working, you’ll likely find her tending to her garden or chasing after her kids outdoors.

Hear What Our Clients Say

“We cannot overstate Laurel Wealth Planning’s value to our financial well-being. Thanks to Mallory Kretman and her remarkable competence, our somewhat chaotic approach to the “business side of life” evolved to a structured plan aligned with our objectives. She addressed ALL facets and brought us peace of mind about the big picture for the future.

At a narrower level, we have faced major life transitions. Mallory supported our decisions by carefully and diligently modeling numerous scenarios and budgets. That done, we could make sound, informed decisions on steps forward.

There are many financial planning companies and planners. We would be hard-pressed to find one with equal or greater concern for, and commitment to, us than we’ve experienced with Laurel Wealth Planning and Mallory Kretman.”
