Laurel Wealth Planning History

LWP is an independent, boutique firm with 25 years of experience serving clients. Here are some highlights along the journey as we’ve grown to become a team serving more than 140 client groups. Also see our firm recognitions throughout the years.

1999

Laura Kuntz founded Laurel Wealth Planning to give clients objective advice, distinct from a focus on proprietary products. She wanted the freedom to look at the complete financial picture and fit the right tools with the right job

2000

LWP hired its second employee, a Client Service Associate.

2006

LWP was consistently serving about 50 client groups.

2007

LWP hired a second wealth manager.

2010

Laura was elected to the Board of the Financial Planning Association of Minnesota. She was also asked to help lead the association’s professional education as Director of Programs.

2012

Laura joined the faculty of the Family Law Institute, speaking on financial planning for divorcing individuals.

2014

LWP was consistently serving about 100 client groups.

2019

Mallory Kretman was promoted to wealth manager and became the firm’s second shareholder.

Laura joined the faculty of the Family Law Institute, speaking on financial planning for divorcing individuals.

2023

LWP is consistently serving about 140 client groups.
