Client Relationship Specialist
“I enjoy walking alongside people on their personal paths. We get to be involved in the really great times in clients’ lives. And even during difficult times, it’s gratifying to do my part to help them navigate and come out stronger.”
As our Client Relationship Specialist, Shelly is a key point of contact for our clients and plays a critical role in fulfilling their needs in partnership with our wealth managers.
Shelly joined Laurel Wealth Planning in 2020 with six years of client relationship experience, most of it in the financial services industry. She has worked in institutional investment as well as wealth management.
When a divorce prompted Shelly to join the paid workforce after 17 years as a stay-at-home mom, she knew client service would be a good fit for her. Years of philanthropic work had shown her knack at building relationships and achieving goals. She got a lot of satisfaction out of leading people and organizing events to raise funds for causes close to her heart.
Her life experiences give her special appreciation for the way that Laurel Wealth Planning helps people in transitions. It’s easy in such times to become paralyzed with anxiety over all the things that need to be handled. Shelly is excited to play a role in helping clients through that transition and educating them about their finances.
Shelly learned over the past decade that there’s nothing she can’t do. Becoming the head of a household in her 40s was frightening but taught her to believe in herself and trust the process. She thinks if people stop being so hard on themselves and start moving forward, they can become the best version of themselves.
Shelly grew up the gulf coast in Mississippi and enjoys visiting her family back home frequently. She now lives in Eden Prairie with her teenage son. Her two daughters are in college. Shelly also recently adopted a dog named Lula, who is like a fourth child to her. She enjoys reading, watching TV and finding local hidden gems to visit with her children.
